Ever Hear of Making Money With “Freebies”?

Have you ever heard of making money with Freebies?

I remember when I first started really looking for a way to make money on the internet, this was one of the easiest way for me to make a couple of bucks.

The concept of Freebies or “offers” is that you get paid for trying different products.  You usually try them on a trial basis that may cost you a couple of bucks.

But before we get more into it, let’s learn how this all comes to be…. Companies such as NetFlix, Discover Card, Boca Java, and more have advertising budgets that they use to attract new customers.  Well a great way for them to do this is using the internet!  It’s cheaper and it is usually targeted directly to their specific market.  It allows them to spend less money and attract more business.

So what these companies do is pay what are known as Affiliate Networks.  I know that may seem like a new term to you, but I’m pretty sure you’ve seen them before!

Have you ever seen those pop-up ads or get an e-mail telling you that you can get a $500 Wal-Mart gift card or a new flat screen TV?  If so, then you know when you click on it, you’re taken to a series of pages that ask you to complete a bunch of “offers” in order to claim your prize.

That my friend is considered an affiliate network.

All the different advertisers (again, like Netflix) actually are PAYING these affiliate networks to drive business to their product.  Every time someone completes one of those offers, that network is getting paid!

Well these affiliate networks got smart and realized that they could just sort of split the profits with normal people like us to fill out these offers.  So what I was doing for awhile is completing these different offers for extra cash!  I would usually spent around $5-$10 on an offer but in return, received $30-$40 for my efforts!

Now there is some things to consider though –

-          First and foremost, I would HIGHLY recommend that you use a separate credit card for this.  Sometime small with maybe a $100 limit or something like that.  You will be using the credit card a lot so I would try and keep it completely separate from your normal credit/bank card.

-          A majority of the offers require that you pay them upfront for the trial.  After the given trial period, they will charge you for the subscription.  The key is to cancel the membership before the end of your trial period so you are not charged more.  If you do forget to cancel the trial membership, you will get charged whether you like the product or not.

-          You will need to be honest with your name, phone number, email address, etc.  Remember these affiliate (or “freebie”) networks are being paid by the advertisers to drive business to their site.  If you are using bogus information and the advertiser finds out, then they DO NOT GET PAID!  So they will make sure that the information you use for the trial is legit.

-          Make sure that you are using a legit network.  I found that the best way to go is the Free Lunch Room Forum.  Here they have all the information you’ll need for getting started with these Freebie Trials.

This is a great way to make some easy extra cash rather quickly.  When I started, I was able to make a few hundred dollars in a couple of weeks.

The downside to this way of making money is that it can run out pretty quick.  For the most part, you can only do one offer once.  Therefore at some point, you will run out of things to do.

The other downside is that you are potentially leaving yourself at risk with as many times as you plug in your credit card information.  I haven’t heard of any major horror stories, but it does happen.  This certainly isn’t for everyone, but a lot of people still participate in it.

I personally no longer participate in these offers because I would much rather work for something with more longevity and earning potential.  That being said, it can also give you a quick couple of bucks!
